Barriers to equitable education impact our whole community and can’t be solved in a classroom alone. CEB provides programs and services designed to holistically support the whole family including our students, caregivers, and community.

STUDENT Programs & Services

Student Advocacy System

Rise to Thrive Student Advocacy System is an equitable, individualized student program that supports the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, physical and academic growth of each student.

The program develops students to be confident directors of their own lives and positive citizens of the world. Each student receives a dedicated advocate to help them set goals, develop individualized action plans, and persevere to see them through. The Advocate serves as the CEB Connector, centering and connecting all stakeholders and supports around the student.

SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTER

Located in the CEB Wellness Center is a school-based health center operated by ChristianaCare for Kuumba Academy Charter School.

ChristianaCare school-based health centers were established to create easy access to high-quality health care for students in our community. The Kuumba Academy School-Based Health Center at the Community Education Building provides comprehensive medical and behavioral health care and health education to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The launch of the Kuumba Academy School-Based Health Center at the Community Education Building has been made possible thanks to the Delaware Wraparound Services Initiative grant awarded to Kuumba Academy, which includes a partnership with the Community Education Building and ChristianaCare.

Student Meals

CEB believes that nourishing the whole child is key to student success. CEB’s Food Services Team provides free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks to our students and invests in our children’s health with the implementation of over 70% scratch cooked meals.

Our creative menu design is providing a plethora of options by providing both a cold and hot option at breakfast and lunch. Our goal is for children to look forward to meal time and find desirable food selections.

Family Resource Center

The CEB Family Resource Center offers free programs and services to families in the CEB Community. We work to provide programs and services designed to holistically support the whole family.

The FRC includes our choice Food Pantry, career and financial support, life coaching, emergency and health service referrals, housing assistance, community education opportunities, and acts as a connector to vetted community organizations.

CEB Connects

Looking for a place to access your child’s school resources, see school and community events, set and track your personal goals, and find resources to help you reach those goals?

Check out CEB Connects, the one-stop-shop platform to help you thrive and your child succeed. This family engagement platform makes it easy for you to connect with your child’s education AND the resources you need to meet your personal goals.

Families Achieving More

Families Achieving More (FAM) is a program by the CEB Family Resource Center that provides the tools, strategies, and support to help you and your family get where you want to be.

FAM is an exclusive opportunity for parents and caregivers brought to you by the CEB Family Resource Center, to build community, access game-changing resources, and build opportunities for you and your families.

We build a personal coach-parent relationship – one rooted in trust on which parents can rely. We provide opportunities for parents to create connections and community with each other, while also offering access to experts in areas that can accelerate progress towards reaching individual goals.

Food Pantry

CEB believes in nourishing the whole family and that our families should not be burdened with food insecurity. CEB’s choice Food Pantry is available to all CEB Families completely free.

Available items include meats, fresh produce, bread, canned goods, breakfast foods, juices and milk, condiments, pasta, paper products, cleaning products, feminine products, and detergent.

CEB Wellness Center

The CEB Wellness Center offers access to medical, mental, and behavioral preventative and acute care services for the students and families at the CEB. Through collaborative partnerships, the CEB Wellness Center is a hub of health and wellness for the Community.

Within the CEB Wellness Center we have our School Nursing Hub, access to Mental and Behavioral Health, COVID-19 Coordination Services, Health Education opportunities, Community Health programming, and our newest addition, the school-based health center with services provided by ChristianaCare.

COLOCATION

CEB provides operational services such as building management, custodial services and security that allow our school and tenant partners to focus on teaching, learning, and delivering the highest-quality education.

With an emphasis on creating a safe and enriching space, the CEB not only manages all building upgrades, but works with schools and tenant partners on custom buildouts to ensure the space is tailored to the organization’s needs. Mission-driven organizations deserve access to conveniently located, secure, facilities without taking away from their program budget.

Learning Commons

Health & Wellness Center

Through a partnership with Christiana Care Center for Virtual Health, the CEB is proud to be a Virtual Health Community Site. A team of health care professionals are on site two days a week to provide support and access to telehealth services for the CEB Community including students, families, and staff.

The Christiana Care Center for Virtual Health Team works with our Community to navigate insurance eligibility, technology options, and address access barriers. Christiana Care Virtual Health at the CEB provides a convenient space to access primary care services, immediate referrals from school nurses for students, and a team of health care professionals dedicated to bringing health services directly to the Community.
